Beginning March 13, 2025, the Cimarron Hills Fire Department (CHFD) will be accepting applications and resumes for the position of Wildfire Specialist (part-time).  

CHFD is expanding its wildland firefighting program and these part-time positions are being hired primarily for local, regional, and national deployments on Type 3 and Type 6 Engines.  The expectation is the Wildfire Specialist being deployed often throughout the year, gaining valuable experience, and providing additional opportunities for the CHFD organization. 

CHFD Wildfire Specialist positions are assigned an intermittent work schedule and traditionally less than 1600-hours per year.  This position  is not eligible for benefits.
